About ‘the Hus’

Archer & Rose Art Hus is the spiritual child of storyteller and artist S. Roman. Inspired by the classic “art hus” or “art haus”—a home for creativity, collaboration, and community—it is a place where stories and art live side by side. Here, imaginative tales for children and adults are born, alongside a variety of paintings in acrylic, watercolor, and ink, drawn from the muses of nature and myth.

More than a studio, Archer & Rose is a home: a welcoming space for all ages and abilities. Through community programming, I pair my stories with hands-on art activities, inviting everyone to explore, create, and connect. This is a place where imagination blooms, art inspires, and every visitor can feel at home.

Artist & Storyteller S.Roman

S. Roman has been spinning stories and painting worlds for as long as she could speak and hold a pencil. Inspired by the magic of nature, a child-like sense of wonder, impressionism, surrealism, graffiti, and French cartoonists, she creates art that turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. A neurodivergent dreamer, she has always used stories and paint to make sense of the world—and to invite others into it. S.Roman imagines hopping into a time machine to a fantastical dimension, living as a bard and artist, where every moment is alive with wonder—and S.Roman strives to bring that world to life for all who visit Archer & Rose Art Hus.

Services & Community Engagement

At Archer & Rose Art Hus, I offer community programming that combines storytelling and hands-on art experiences, designed for learners of all ages and abilities. Each program pairs one of my original stories with a matching art activity, creating an immersive, creative experience that inspires imagination and fosters connection.

With an M.S. in Psychology specializing in child development, and extensive experience as an early childhood educator—including special education—as well as an adult educator, volunteer coordinator, and grants and program administrator in the public health and youth sectors, I bring both expertise and heart to every program. As a neurodivergent artist and storyteller, I am deeply committed to inclusivity and tailoring experiences to meet the needs of every participant.
